Last month we had the privilege of returning to Crandon School District for our second onsite visit to support their Neurosequential Model in Education (NME) implementation. These visits are such an important part of our ongoing collaboration — they allow us to engage with staff, meet with NME Trainers, co-observe classrooms in action, and strengthen the district’s capacity to sustain this work over time.
Our time in Crandon focused on supporting the district’s NME Trainers, training staff, and spending time in classrooms to see how the model is being applied day-to-day. These onsite visits are at the heart of our implementation model, which uniquely integrates our S.I.T.E. Framework from Educational Access Group with the Neurosequential Model in Education. This allows us to help districts build internal capacity and create sustainable, district-wide shifts that are supported at all levels—from leadership to classroom educators.
What makes these onsite days so crucial is the opportunity for authentic engagement. Being in classrooms allows us to build relationships with educators, learn about the community’s unique strengths, challenges, and goals, and ensure that the NME content and strategies are integrated in ways that truly fit the local context.
Crandon’s commitment to this work is especially inspiring. The fact that their superintendent is an Advanced NME Trainer demonstrates remarkable buy-in and leadership from the top – something we know is essential for lasting, systemic change, alignment and sustainability.
These onsite days are also full of joy! We get to witness phenomenal teachers bringing regulation, connection, and safety to life in their classrooms. We share joyful moments with students, celebrate progress, and work to ensure that the content of the Neurosequential Model in Education supports educators and learners alike.
What stands out to us in every school is that educators are already doing so much of this work, we simply have the joy of naming and framing it through the lens of the Neurosequential Model. The Crandon team is an incredible example of this- a truly hardworking, dedicated staff whose care and commitment shine through in their positive interactions.
We are deeply grateful for the Crandon team’s openness, energy, and partnership. Their dedication to building a regulated, relational, and resilient school community is truly inspiring, and we’re honored to walk alongside them on this journey.
We are always so excited to spend time in the gorgeous Northwoods! Thanks, Crandon!
